In Short: Some information — such as your Internet Protocol (IP) address and/or browser and device characteristics — is collected automatically when you visit our Services.

5. DO WE OFFER ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE-BASED PRODUCTS?
In Short: We use AI to analyze your manuscript and extract events such as timelines and scenes. Your manuscript is NEVER used to train any AI models.
We use artificial intelligence technology exclusively to:
- Determine the boundaries between scenes
- Compare discreet character traits (ie, green eyes vs. blue eyes)
- Flag certain continuity errors
Your Manuscript Protection:
- Your manuscripts are NEVER used to train, improve, or teach any AI models (ours or our providers')
- We use API calls that explicitly prohibit training on your content
- AI processes your text only to provide you with analysis - it never generates new creative content
- You retain 100% ownership and copyright of all your work
- We cannot and will not access your manuscripts except when you explicitly request support
How It Works:
When you request analysis, your manuscript is temporarily processed through enterprise APIs (like OpenAI or Anthropic) that have contractual obligations not to train on customer data. The analysis results are returned to you, and no permanent copy is retained by the AI provider.
6. HOW DO WE HANDLE YOUR SOCIAL LOGINS?
In Short: If you choose to register or log in to our Services using a social media account, we may have access to certain information about you.
Our Services offer you the ability to register and log in using your third-party social media account details (like your Facebook or X logins). Where you choose to do this, we will receive certain profile information about you from your social media provider.
7. IS YOUR INFORMATION TRANSFERRED INTERNATIONALLY?
In Short: We may transfer, store, and process your information in countries other than your own.
Our servers are located in the United States. If you are a resident in the European Economic Area (EEA), United Kingdom (UK), or Switzerland, then these countries may not necessarily have data protection laws as comprehensive as those in your country.
8. HOW LONG DO WE KEEP YOUR INFORMATION?
In Short: We keep your information for as long as necessary to fulfill the purposes outlined in this Privacy Notice unless otherwise required by law.

12. CONTROLS FOR DO-NOT-TRACK FEATURES
Most web browsers and some mobile operating systems include a Do-Not-Track ("DNT") feature. As such, we do not currently respond to DNT browser signals or any other mechanism that automatically communicates your choice not to be tracked online.
13. MANUSCRIPT SECURITY
User content (documents, manuscripts, and other writing) is secure. It is never used to train an AI model, it is encrypted at rest and in transit, and Novelium will never read your content without your permission. User content remains the intellectual property of the user. Content deleted in Novelium is deleted forever, and we do not sell or share your writing to anyone, ever.
14. DO WE MAKE UPDATES TO THIS NOTICE?
In Short: Yes, we will update this notice as necessary to stay compliant with relevant laws.
We may update this Privacy Notice from time to time. The updated version will be indicated by an updated "Revised" date at the top of this Privacy Notice.
